독일의 지도급 과학자와 예술가는 세계에 선언문을 발표한다.

그들은 독일에 대한 거짓말에 반박한다.

 

THEY DENOUNCE THE LIES BEING TOLD AGAINST GERMANY

 

 

93인의 선언문은 독일의 저명한 과학자와 학자, 예술가들이 독일의 군사행동을 확고하게 지지함을 선언한 1914년도의 문서를 공식적으로 부르는 이름이다.

독일 과학계와 예술계를 대표하는 우리는 독일에 대한 거짓 증언과 중상행위에 대항해서 문명세계에 다음과 같이 저항한다. 우리의 적들은 거짓과 중상을 하므로써 독일이 생존을 구하려 극한 투쟁을 하는 국가적 명예에 흠집을 내려했다. - 이는 이 나라에 강요된 생존투쟁이다.

 

사건을 철면피처럼 선전하는 자들은 독일이 패퇴한다는 가공의 허위사실을 드러냈다; 따라서 거짓증언과 중상행위는 더 극렬하게 작용했다. 진리를 알리기 위해 우리는 그들에 대항해서 목소리를 높인다.

 

독일이 이 전쟁을 일으켰다는 책임에 대해서 이는 사실이 아니다. 국민이나 정부나 카이저 황제도 전쟁을 원치않았다....

 

우리가 중립국 벨기에를 불법 침략했다는 말은 사실이 아니다. 프랑스와 영국이 그런 침략을 강조했다는 것은 이미 증명되었다. 그리고 벨기에는 그들이 벌이는 소행에 합의 했음도 증명되었다. 이것을 미리 선점하지 않았다면 그건 우리에게는 자살행위가 되었을 것이다.

 

벨기에 시민중 단 한사람의 생명이나 재산이 우리 군대에 의해 상처를 입었다는 말은 사실이 아니다. 어떻게 벨기에 측의 극렬한 방어가 없을 것이며 그들이 필요한 조치를 취하지않을 수 있단 말인가...

 

우리 군대가 벨기에 루벵을 무참하게 짓밟았다는 말은 사실이 아니다. 그곳의 격렬한 주민들은 그들의 영역에 반역적으로 저항했던 것이니 우리 군대는 아픈 가슴을 안고서 그 도시의 일부에 징벌 차원에서 발포하지 않을 수없었다. 루벵의 가장 큰 지역은 보존되었다....

 

우리의 전시상태가 국제법을 준수하지 않는다는 말은 사실이 아니다. 그들도 어떤 무참한 잔인성이 없다는 것을 안다. 그러나 동방의 땅, 러시는 여성과 어린이의 피로 적셔졌다. 그 거치른 러시아 공산군대의 무참한 백정 짓으로 인해 그런 비극의 희생이 발생한 것이다. 또 서방은 덤덤탄을 무차별 사용해서 군대의 가슴에 상처를 준다.

 

소위 군사주의에 끌려서 전투를 하는 것은 우리 문명에 대항한 전쟁이 아니라는 말은 사실이 아니다. 왜냐하면 우리 적이야말로 위선적으로 그런 전쟁이 아닌척 가장하는 행태를 벌이고 있기 때문이다. 만일 독일이 군사주의에 휩쓸린 것이라면 독일문명은 벌써 오래전에 멸종되었을 것이다.

 

우리는 적이 내놓고 있는 독물질 무기인 - 거짓말 - 에 씨름하고 있을 수 없다. 우리가 할수있는 모든 일은 전세계에 사실을 선포하는 일인데, 우리 적이 거짓의 증언을 내놓고 있음을 고발하는 길이다...

 

우리를 믿어달라, 우리는 하나의 문명국가로서 이 전쟁을 종식시키도록 할 것이다. 우리는 괴테와 베토벤, 칸트의 전승을 지키며 그것을 우리 양심과 가정에 신성하게 간직할 것이다.

이 선언문에는 가장 유명한 과학자인 빌헬름 뢴트겐 Wilhelm Roentgen이 서명했다 - 뢴트겐 광선으로 노벨물리학상을 수상한 학자인데 그의 덕분으로 의술은 획기적 진보를 이룬바있고 수없이 많은 고귀한 인명을 구했다. 그런데 주류 지배계층은 뢴트겐이 망할놈의 93인 선언에 서명했다는 이유로 과학계에서 이름을 지워버렸다. 또 뢴트겐 광선은 그다음부터 X광선이라고 바뀌어 불려졌다.

1914 THE MANIFESTO OF THE 93 GERMANY'S LEADING SCIENTISTS & ARTISTS ISSUE A STATEMENT TO THE WORLD THEY DENOUNCE THE LIES BEING TOLD AGAINST GERMANY

The "Manifesto of the Ninety-Three" is the name commonly given to a 1914 proclamation endorsed by 93 prominent German scientists, scholars and artists, declaring their unequivocal support of German military actions. ********************************************************* As representatives of German Science and Art, we hereby protest to the civilized world against the lies and calumnies with which our enemies are endeavoring to stain the honor of Germany in her hard struggle for existence—in a struggle that has been forced on her. The iron mouth of events has proved the untruth of the fictitious German defeats; consequently misrepresentation and calumny are all the more eagerly at work. As heralds of truth we raise our voices against these. It is not true that Germany is guilty of having caused this war. Neither the people, the Government, nor the Kaiser wanted war.... It is not true that we trespassed in neutral Belgium. It has been proved that France and England had resolved on such a trespass, and it has likewise been proved that Belgium had agreed to their doing so. It would have been suicide on our part not to have preempted this. It is not true that the life and property of even a single Belgian citizen was injured by our soldiers without the bitterest defense having made it necessary.... It is not true that our troops treated Louvain brutally. Furious inhabitants having treacherously fallen upon them in their quarters, our troops with aching hearts were obliged to fire a part of the town, as punishment. The greatest part of Louvain has been preserved.... It is not true that our warfare pays no respects to international laws. It knows no undisciplined cruelty. But in the east, the earth is saturated with the blood of women and children unmercifully butchered by the wild Russian troops, and in the west, dumdum bullets mutilate the breasts of our soldiers.... It is not true that the combat against our so-called militarism is not a combat against our civilization, as our enemies hypocritically pretend it is. Were it not for German militarism, German civilization would long since have been extirpated.... We cannot wrest the poisonous weapon—the lie—out of the hands of our enemies. All we can do is proclaim to all the world, that our enemies are giving false witness against us.... Have faith in us! Believe, that we shall carry on this war to the end as a civilized nation, to whom the legacy of a Goethe, a Beethoven, and a Kant, is just as sacred as its own hearths and homes. *********************************************************** The most well known scientist to sign the statement is Wilhelm Roentgen - a Nobel Prize winning physicist whose discovery ("Roentgen Rays.") changed medicine forever and has saved countless lives. For daring to sign this document of truth, Roentgen's name will later be "X-d out"  from his own discovery - which we now only refer to as "X-Rays".

 

 

 

 

For speaking out against Allied lies, Roentgen's name has been erased from his own discovery.
