멕시코만 유정폐쇄는 거짓말 / 진실을 밝혀라 !

위성 (구글) 사진에는 멕시코 만 사태가 참담한 상황으로 나타나고 있는데, 세계 주요언론들은 유정을 폐쇄하고 상황이 끝나 유출된 석유도 다 거의 말끔히 사라졌다고 어이없는 거짓말을 내보내고 있습니다. 관련자들의 입을 봉쇄하고 매수하는 등 출입을 통제하고 있다는 기사도 있었지만, 중요한 것은 진실입니다.

만약, 엄청난 위험이 도사리고 있는데 정치, 경제적인 목적으로 시간을 벌기위해 감추고 있다면, 그로인해 발생할 지구상의 엄청난 재앙과 피해를 누가 책임지고 감당해야 하는 건지 정말 걱정입니다. 이로 인해 인명피해가 속출한다면 아마 혼란은 더욱 가중 될 것으로 보입니다.

자연 생태계 파괴는 물론 오일수거제 과다 투여로 생명이 부지할 수 없는 바다로 변해버렸다고 합니다.또한 가장 위험한 것은 메탄가스가 새어나오고 해저의 파괴현상이 나타나고 있다는 엄청난 사실, 인간이 수습할 수 없는 위험한 단계에 치다르고 있다는 정보 입니다. 이것이 사실이라면 인근 지역의 주민들의 생명을 보호하기 위해 대피시키는 등 어떤 특단의 조치가 있어야하지 않을까 싶습니다. 그야말로 지구촌의 거대한 재앙으로 보입니다.

The White House was accused today of spinning a government scientific report into the amount of oil left in the Gulf of Mexico from the BP [blowout] which had officials declaring that the vast majority of the oil had been removed. Environmental groups and scientists – including those working with government agencies – said White House officials had painted far too optimistic a picture of a report by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency [NOAA] into the fate of the oil. "Recent reports seem to say that about 75% of the oil is taken care of and that is just not true," said John Kessler, of Texas A&M University, who led a National Science Foundation on-site study of the spill. "The fact is that 50% to 75% of the material that came out of the well is still in the water. It's just in a dissolved or dispersed form." Rick Steiner, a former University of Alaska marine biologist, suggested that the White House had been too eager to try to put the oil spill behind it, with Democrats in Congress facing tough election fights in November. "It seems that there was a rush to declare this done, and there were obvious political objectives there," he said. "Even if there is not a drop of oil out there, and it had truly magically vanished, it would still be an environmental disaster caused by the toxic shock of the release of 5m barrels of oil."

영국 석유는 멕시코만에서 이제 철수해도 된다고 설레발치면서 방석유 막음새 Boom 을 치우는 장면이 보도되더군요. 아예 물속에 물고기 해파리도 보이고 사람도 바닷속에서 헤엄칠 정도로 이젠 석유유출이 잡혔다고 자랑하더군요. 그런데 어쩐 일입니까? 그네가 사상 최대규모로 대학교수 연구진 지식인 그룹을 통째 매수하고 있다해서 소동이 벌어집니다. 대학의 연구결과를 발표할 때 이것이 멕시코만 석유오염 결과와 관계된 것이라면 영국석유사 계약 법률회사와 협의를 한후에 내보낸다는 독소조항이 달린 계약을 맺고 다닌다는 것입니다. 이렇게 해서 연구가 제대로 될는지 불문가지입니다.

그런데 영국석유가 이제 바다가 안전하다고 내보낸 영상자료는 멕시코만이 아니라 거기서 좀 떨어진 루이지애나 강하구의 민물 합류지역이라는 설이 나옵니다. 거기는 민물이 씻어내리는 곳이지 바다의 석유가 분출되는 곳이 아닌데 왜 그런 엉뚱한 영상을 내보냈는가요? 실수인가요, 제 짐작에는 이젠 괜찮아 라고 안심시켜서 국면을 돌려보려는 홍보전술이 아닌가 의심됩니다. 그런데 그곳의 어부나 방제 인부들로부터 들리는 소식은 지난 4개월동안 석유에 유화분산제 메탄가스등으로 몸이 오염되서 고통을 당하는 나머지 일을 그만두고 그 지역을 빠져나가는 사람이 많다는 이야기입니다. 세상에 비밀은 없습니다. 사람을 하루이틀을 속일 수는 있어도 그 이상은 할 수 없는 것이죠.

The head of the American Association of University Professors has accused BP of trying to "buy" the best scientists and academics to help it contest litigation after the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. "This is really one huge corporation trying to buy faculty silence in a comprehensive way," said Cary Nelson. BP faces more than 300 lawsuits so far. In a statement, BP says it has hired more than a dozen national and local scientists "with expertise in the resources of the Gulf of Mexico". The BBC has obtained a copy of a contract offered to scientists by BP. It says that scientists cannot publish the research they do for BP or speak about the data for at least three years, or until the government gives the final approval to the company's restoration plan for the whole of the Gulf. And it adds that scientists must take instructions from lawyers offering the contracts and other in-house counsel at BP. What Mr Nelson is concerned about is BP's control over scientific research. "Our ability to eval!uate the disaster and write public policy and make decisions about it as a country can be impacted by the silence of the research scientists who are looking at conditions," he said. "It's hugely destructive. I mean at some level, this is really BP versus the people of the United States."
